Lets meet up and draw the lovely architecture, decor and sculpture in and outside Manchester Town Hall.
I have contacted them to confirm it is alright so hopefully it'll be all steam ahead.

Sorry for the massive delay! Thanks for all your kind words. Was great to see you all. Great places we went to in the end so many thanks for everyone's ideas. That's what good teamwork does and its more about what the majority wants rather than little ol' me!
As discussed last time, planning on doing a social (mid-week?) to have a few jars and maybe some drawing thrown in too. ;o)

Had a really enjoyable time in Albert Square, Manchester Art Gallery and John Rylands Library.Met some lovely people, and had a great day doing some interesting sketching.Big thanks to Matthew.
I'm all tuckered out so going to head home, nice meeting you all. Thought I'd write it here rather than search through 4 floors for you guys ;)
Hi all, I will meet you outside the town hall in Albert Square tomorrow from 10.30am and then we can decide together where we want to go. Keep your eyes peeled here for any messages and on your e-mail if you're unsure where to go.
See you tomorrow,Matt

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it tomorrow after all :( have fun x
I was also going to recommend The John Rylands Library. Or the Science and Industry Museum?

Hi Matt, There's still plenty of options, what about the library at the back of the townhall, it's just had a massive re-opening and is very pretty inside. If it's open on sundays that might be an added option. Then you also have John Rylands library which is amazing inside, as well as the cathedral.
Apologies but I have made a massive boo-boo. The inside of the town hall is not open on Sundays ;o(. I'm really sorry - I e-mailed them weeks ago about getting permission to go as a group but never heard anything, and obviously they would have told me that it is not open on this day! D'oh! I just presumed it would have been open all weekend.
Obviously we can still draw around, outside the town hall but it doesn't offer the 'rainy day' option some you wanted.
Sincere apologies again, especially for finding out so late! Please let me know your ideas/thoughts.

Sorry Matthew, I won't be able to join you on Sunday. Sailing the Artism floating art gallery in the opposite direction. Have a good time, hope it will be warmer for you than the last meetup.

Really looking forward to this! Do you think we'll be able to take photos inside for further reference?

Calling all amateur, professional and curious wannabe artists, this might be the perfect group for you! Drawing is action. I have had a passion for the arts since childhood.
'The teaching of drawing is the teaching of looking.' A lot of people don't look very hard - David Hockney
This group is an opportunity to:
• draw/sketch/create (whatever you like to call it) in a group environment.
• see other ways of expression
• spend a few hours broadening horizons on sketching and drawing
• practice. Doing is thinking. And looking!
Afterwards maybe find a pub for a nice long drink and share ideas on art and have a laugh!
Everyone has the ability to draw. I look forward to meeting you at an event! Virgil
