Free screening followed by group discussion.
This time we're switching it up a bit and are going to see the second episode of Ways of Seeing. Ways of Seeing was a 4-part documentary series the BBC put out in 1972. It was mainly put together by art critic, writer and all around great fella, John Berger. He also wears some fantastic shirts.
The series is *spoiler alert* about how we look at things and is a criticism of Western aesthetics through art. Episode 2 is on the female nude and by extent talks about male and female gaze. More info on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ways_of_Seeing
Like last time and the time before that and the time before that and the time before that we'll follow the screening with a group discussion. Discussion ends at 7pm but we can all hang out in the bar area afterwards.
Since this doc is only 30 minutes long, if anyone has a suggestion for another short documentary (around 25m), please leave it in the comments.
