Do you look forward to Renfair but wish you could go any time? Have you ever wanted to take up armoured medieval fighting or renaissance fencing? Or have you just wanted to learn a bit more about life in the middle ages?.
The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. With over 30,000 members worldwide, members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes & workshops, and more.
The Shire of Sangre Del Sol is the Broward County chapter of the SCA.
Who We Are
The shire of Sangre Del Sol is in Broward County, Florida, also the lower edge of Palm Beach, and is part of the Kingdom of Trimaris, a branch of the Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA). The SCA is a medieval/renaissance recreation organization. We seek to learn about the beauty, chivalry, and knowledge of our past and to share with others the wonders of medieval Europe.
What We Do
We study pre 17th century European history, although you are not limited to Europe. We recreate the fun parts, like feasts, costumes, and sword fighting, but leave out the parts like plagues and be-headings!
Some of the activities we enjoy include:
Calligraphy & Illumination
Where We Meet
Our primary interest are "events", where hundreds and thousands of people all dress up and particiate in the various activities of the middle ages that interest them.
