Re: [yoga-832] New Meetup: An Evening with Matt Monarch and Angela Stokes

This email is sent to you all in regard to the Soma Center's recent announcement that set fees will now be charged for all Yoga Classes.
On the first Sunday of this past September, Soma Center introduced a "Therapeutic Yoga" class, held once a week on Sunday's at 2:00 p.m.  The title of the class itself, in my opinion, would appeal to seniors, handicapped and/or disabled people.  In fact, when you attend the class, special equipment is given to the attendee so you are more easily able to perform the postures, positioning and correct alignment.   No other yoga class held at the Soma Center is given or offered these "aids".
I ask you all, why would a brand new class that clearly is intended to help facilitate ease of movement and additional flexibility to a group of people who are very often on "fixed incomes" (which have been frozen from cost of living increases for the next two years) be told they will now pay "X amount" or they will be unable to attend a class designed to improve their quality of life and ability to do activities of daily living?
If this email gives you food for thought, please be kind enough to either email Soma Center or while there make your opinion known.
This is a once a week class, held for a very select group of people, who need the original philosophy of the Soma Center regarding each individual's ability to pay more than many of us.
Thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion.
