Zip-lining through the redwoods.

OK, get ready! I’m posting this to get an idea of how many brave people we can round up for a fantastic Zip Line experience!  Maybe we could meet some where for coffee and snacks before hand.   Then we would depart & head out to our Zip Line location near the Russian river & Occidental.

There are 7 runs, 2 sky bridges, a Spiral staircase, & the Rappel platform down.
All equipment & instructions included. We will be in the tall Redwoods & the highest point is 220 ft. & the longest run is about 850 ft. Bring a small camera with a strap. A must for photos. Helmet cams are also available for rent. Shorts are ok. Tie back long hair. No open toed shoes.

We could do a super fun (dinner) after the Zip event at the historic Union hotel in Occidental. (Optional).  Cost for zipping is 99.00 for adults, 79.00 for adults 59 + & 59.00 for children 17 & under. I'll be available for pick up for up to 2 people. Car pooling would be a good idea (at a Location posted later.)

Payment options: P.Pal (hopefully asap)??

No one has ever been disappointed. A super fun day to remember.

NOTE: Please commit ASAP, & honor your RSVP. Each Platform/reservation holds 8 Zippers. http://www.sonomacanopytours.com/

    Hi, All:
Just wanted to respond to Deb. Getting stuck in the middle was too far a haul to get to the platform. One of the guides zipped down the line and brought me back. While waiting for the guide to get me, dangling 200 feet above ground was a fantastic experience - and I more than laughed. It was such a freeing experience. I may be ready to sky dive. I did not complete all the lines - not because of anxiety about the next line. As I was waiting for others to complete zipping the line, the platform I was on started to really sway, sway and sway - and my tummy got very queasy. Assisted, I got down by a pulley rope, along with a companion who did not want to go forward on the next line. Had it not been for the "swaying", I would have been okay.

    Great experience, and great day!

Although I didn't complete all seven lines (only 4), I had the most fun I can remember in a long time. Getting stuck mid-line was a fantastic experience - dangling 200 feet above the ground and really enjoying the fantastic view as well as the sensation of total freedom. Great support from all companions!

So what happened. Got stuck in the middle? How did you get down? I waited in the parking lot for close to an hour and got so hungry that I left.

We had three not make it all the way to the end, but they were very brave souls to try!!

This was a wonderful day. From brunch in the morning, getting to know new people, to the waiting anxiously in the parking lot for our turn to be taken to the top of the mountain. The weather cooperated, albeit a little cool and windy at times. It was so much fun watching everyone's faces as we experienced each new aspect of zip lining. For a few it was a little more than they wanted, and that's fine. What's important is they TRIED. Congratulations to all....

    Hey everyone,
We had a zipper have to cancel, so if you know of anyone else that might be interested, get in touch with them soon. We still have plenty of time to fill this spot, so lets get on it and see if we can save our drop out the cancellation fee.
    Thanks, Barry

Met someone at a party this evening who's done this specific line. She had a hard time with the rappelling at the end; confess I never had to do that on my previous rides!

They make it very easy you, and they help to control the speed or lack of that you descend. We had a couple people that were very concerned, but it worked out fine for them.

Well here's the latest update, WildFlower Bread Co. never actually opened an outlet in our area. So I'm open to suggestions for a new rendezvous spot before our Zip line experience. The DATE I'm looking at right now is April 19th. Booking times at around 2:00-2:30 pm. The sooner everybody responds the better, so I can start making the reservations... I look forward to all your feed back. Lets fast track this thing.

    March 5, 2014

    • Barry S.

I'll keep those dates in mind. Although neither of your dates work for me! No reservations made yet...Let me see how we do with any other conflicts.

Please Keep in mind as soon as I get 12 rsvp's I will start making reservations. That is when I will need to start collecting $$$

I've actually done this before at this location; it was a blast. Not to say I wasn't nervous at first, but turned into great fun. Especially rappeling down to the ground.
