How the Heck Do I Date at This Age? workshop

You’re ready to connect for dating, sex, love, companionship – but dating at our age feels awkward and weird. What are the guidelines? How do you navigate online dating, write a cool profile, avoid the pitfalls, and evade the creeps and weirdos? Whether you’re widowed, divorced, or a longtime single, you’ll find this interactive workshop illuminating and fun, and you’ll get to find out how other single seniors meet and mate (or try to). All genders and orientations welcome. Joan Price, http://www.joanprice.com/, author of the award-winning Naked at Our Age: Talking Out Loud about Senior Sex, Better Than I Ever Expected: Straight Talk about Sex After Sixty, and the upcoming The Ultimate Guide to Sex after Fifty leads these workshops. Location is a private home in Sebastopol -- you'll get the address after you preregister. Free gifts: Blossom Organics and Überlube lubricants, condoms, and more. Bring a notebook, a printout of your online profile if you have one, your questions, and a sense of humor. Bonus hour 4:00 - 5:00: Joan will help you revise your online dating profile. Cost: $40 prepaid by July 28; $45 July 29-Aug 2. NOTE: RSVPing on Meetup lets us know that you're interested, but does not register you. Please email [masked] for details about how to register.

I really didn't appreciate going to as bogus address which was a bank in downtown Santa Rosa. My time is valuable and driving to Santa Rosa from Petaluma took time and money. Do better net time, particularly with respect to registration.

Leslie, you were not sent to a bogus address. The event description clearly says that the address will be given after registration. You did not register. If you read the comments here, I repeat several times that RSVPing does *not* register you. I know you're frustrated about going to a non-address, but if you had just read the event description and done what it asked, you would have registered, paid, and received the address.

Would have liked to attend, but I was sent an address in downtown santa rosawhich was not the location of the event. Dont know what happened.

If you read the event description that was posted, it tells you that you had to email me for info about how to preregister and prepay, and the address would be sent after payment was received. I never received an email from you.

I repeated this several times in the comments below because only a few of those who RSVPed actually registered for the event.

I enjoyed the workshop too. It gave me perspective on women's points of views on the dating process and also helped me clarify more what I was looking for.

Please email directly me from your own email address, not via MeetUp. Thank you.

15 people have RSVPed yes to this, but few of you have emailed me for actual registration details. Please do -- this is not an event solely for this singles group, and you are not registered until you've emailed me and paid the registration. Please email me directly at [masked]. Thank you!

Only a few days left to get your registration in at the early bird price. I still haven't heard from many of those who RSVPed yes but didn't register yet.

I would love to go but unfortunately have a funeral to go to :( I hope another one will be provided before too long. I would love to learn how to date as I still haven't figured it out at 62...

Thanks for doing this. I thought it was for hanging
out and discussion at Remy's. I'm not up for a workshop at this point but hope you do it again
    and allow more than 12.

I'd love to be at this workshop, Joan, but I'm having a Linda's Independence Day party on August 3 to celebrate my recent divorce. At 75 (and yes, I look like my picture), I fully intend to date and mate again. By the way, I'm a professional book manuscript copyeditor, if you write another book. Recent transplant to Petaluma from Marin. [masked]

This workshop would be a perfect way to celebrate your divorce, unless you've already set your party in stone for the same time of day! (My publisher handles the editing, but that's great to know that you do that.)

  • Joan P.

The location is Sebastopol, not Santa Rosa. It's not letting me edit.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
