discuss The Curious incident of the dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon

The novel is narrated in the first-person perspective by Christopher John Francis Boone, a 15-year-old boy who describes himself as "a mathematician with some behavioral difficulties" living in Swindon, Wiltshire. Although Christopher's condition is not stated, the book's blurb refers to Asperger syndrome, high-functioning autism, or savant syndrome. In July 2009, Haddon wrote on his blog that "curious incident is not a book about asperger’s....if anything it’s a novel about difference, about being an outsider, about seeing the world in a surprising and revealing way. The book is not specifically about any specific disorder," and that he is not an expert on autism spectrum disorder or Asperger syndrome.[5]

Sadly, changing my RSVP to no. Agreed a couple weeks ago my son could take the car tomorrow night w/o checking my calendar. I even read (ok, listened to) the book! Damn!

I have a copy of the book on cassette tapes to give away -- would anyone like them? (to be picked up in Nashua).

Okay, kids, for those who aren't as old as me. (I learned to do programming on punch cards). Cassette's came after lp's and 8-tracks. (and I ordered it in error, thinking it was a CD -- CD's came before mp3 players and other online downloads ...). So if anyone happens to have one of those cassette player relic's, here's your chance to use it.

The Homestead Restaurant moved to Merrimack. The restaurant in Londonderry that took it's place is called the Coach Stop. I'm presuming that is the one that Rob means.

Also thanks for having the meetup just up the road from the No. Londonderry bus stop, I won't have to drive like a madwoman to make it on time like this month. ;)

So glad I am rereading this. I remember many of the major plot points but forgot about all of the tiny details that made me like this book.

Waitlisted! Gotta move fast around here. Any more thought to splitting up the meetups to make two smaller groups?
