 Hi everyone,

People more or less enjoyed Thomas Keneally's book on the founding of Australia, although it was described as "a bit dry" with "not many human stories". we discussed the different audiences for the book and its genre as a historical record. However, it was found to give a good insight into the living and travelling conditions of the time.

Next month we will discuss Ben Aaronovitch's 'Rivers of London' and the genre is Urban Fantasy.

Have a lovely Christmas!

Valerie

I'm not going to make it after all, as I'm not feeling too well. I'm halfway through the book and enjoying the interplay of real versus unknown/superstition so far. I just hope that it doesn't get too ridiculous towards the end. Sometimes this sort of storyline gets more and more farfetched and I then begin to lose patience with them. I'll wait and see!

Sorry to have missed so many. I'll be making a concerted effort to attend in February!

Hi now I really am confused .Thanks Selene. It would be helpful if Valerie could just confirm this on the page to avoid any further confusion :-)

OK Selene I'll get Rivers of London but Valerie did put that we were reading Storm Front up on her report of the evening so at the very least she needs to be told not to get that book and just to make no one else is confused.
