I know, no gaming meetup in July, I'll be super busy and the store has a big tournament on one of the weekends. But I set it up for August 1, so that gives us more time to game!

What I'd like to do this time is get suggestions from everyone about games they would want to run. When we have a proper pool I'll set up some polls. Might help to include a brief description of the game as well. If you want to suggest a board game or card game or minis game I'll put that in the ring too, if you have everything people would need to play. Here's what I'm putting forth.

- Macho Women with Guns d20. Its a post apocalyptic wasteland where most of the men have died out. Women rule the day. Macho Women. With big guns. A very tongue-in-cheek game with some offcolor humor.
- Dread. I don't know the scenario yet, but this is an intense game where the PCs are usually hunted by some killer, and knocking over the Jenga tower means your number is punched. Perfect for one-shots.
- Spycraft d20 - Picked this up recently and it looks like a good time. The PCs are all secret agents, on a mission of some kind.
- Terra Primate. The PCs are scientists/astronauts/stowaways when a tragic accident traps them on an alien world. An alien world populated by intelligent primates!
- Dogs in the Vineyard. The PCs are all "Dogs" in a West that Never Was. They represent the King of Kings, and consult the Book of Life to settle disputes among the faithful. But with heathen mountain folk, lurking witches and demons, and everyday human frailty and weakness things might get very ugly.
- A Touch of Evil. A board game where the players are all 18th century monster hunters in a small new england village. A monster is haunting the town - it could be the Vampire, Werewolf, Headless Horseman, or others. The players must band together to stop the monster before it kills everyone.
- Arkham Horror. A board game set in Arkham Mass. where the players must stop an ancient evil from rising.

I will run one of these, someone else can run the other. Should be a lot of fun!

I would volunteer to take care of the July meetup if you want. Maybe Mark can run his Boothill that he's itching to do and I can organize a night at the shop with Paul?

That's fine with me (except I wanna play boot hill!).

Just let me know when you'd like to do it. The 25th is the big tournament at the shop.

Also, might it not be kind hard for you to do that if you aren't on the internet all month. :P

Yeah, we should a do a July meetup...call it The Cat's Away but the Mice Still Play Meetup! lol

If we can get enough interest we could do a Saturday day&evening thing like last time. If not, I'm sure we can get a few people together to do one game slot.

Andrew are you talking about World of Warcraft as in the Dungeons and Dragons setting for 3rd ed? If so I have every book they made for it except one that is redundant now anyway and would be more than happy to run that if the masses went that route.

As far as what else I'm willing and able to run for the meetup...

1.Boot Hill-A wild west rpg featuring for this session the players banded together to search for the stereotypical "lost gold". Players will face the hazards of nature, bandits, indians, and worst of all their own backstabbin natures!

2.Warhammer Fantasy RPG-all the swords and spellcasting of DND with a much more realistic combat system(a couple sword hits are probably lethal).

3.DnD 3rd edition in any of the following settings-World of Warcraft(as above),Kingdoms of Kalamar, oriental adventures.

4.2nd ed Dnd-Dark Sun only(i can run other settings but i just wouldnt wanna).

Think thats about it for games that I am comfy enough with the rules to run at a meetup. Still wanna do a wrasslin tourney but I would much rather see that done with peoples own created guys and not a buncha pregens.

Oh duh-hoood!

I would love to play Boothill and I would love to play Terra Primate, Dread, Dogs in the Vineyard, and Macho Women with Guns d20 but...

...I didn't realize you were willing to run a Dark Sun game! I will play Dark Sun any time, any place, & any where.
I will most def vote for it for a one shot meetup game, but any talk of a campaign better include me. I have played that game exactly 5 times, and it was awe-freakin'- some!

I don't know if I would be willing to drop any other game for it...but I would deal with an annoyed wife for it!!
She'd get over it! And as a one off? Just tell me time and place!

I call cannibal halfling!
