Who likes this:I think it would be fun to have an X-mas party for the group. We could play some board games, drink some nog, or brandy or both, and play a Christmas themed game of Dread or something.
Maybe we could do a gift exchange, Secret Santa, or White Elephant exchange?
We could do it on the 12th, 19th, or the 26th even.

Who likes this:I don't go out on New Years Eve generally. When I do, it's usually to a friend's house where I stay all night. I don't like to be on the road with all the drunks.
So is anyone interested in a New Years Eve gaming party?
Lots of option here. Could be as simple as hanging around with drinks and snacks and gaming until we pass out, or as extravagant as everyone chipping in on a hotel room and booze and having a big blow out.
