DAVE'S CYCLE Mianus MTB Ride

Fun Mountain Bike Ride, Moderate Pace, 1.5- 2.0 hours

This is a regular ride and a number of the people that go do not RSVP on Meetup, so even if you do not see more then one person in the RSVP list do not worry, there will be people there.

We go to Dave's Cycle after the ride for Adult Beverages and food

We will meet after work at the Greenwich side of Mianus River Park. This is a Intermediate/Advanced level mountain bike ride. The ride is a mix of freeriders and cross country riders. Pace varies depending on mix of group. Expect to sweat. Mianus River park has a tight network of both fire roads and singletrack. This ride concentrates on hitting many of the advanced terrain features at Mianus Park. It will be focused on technical single track over roots and rocks, log obstacles, rock piles, drops, river crossing and climbs with stops to play on skinnies. All riders must have helmets and other appropriate safety gear. This is a "Common Adventurer" ride not a guided ride. No formal instruction is offered. Experienced riders only. Dave's Cycle assumes no liability for riders and their safety.

We will meet at the posted time, and hit the trail 15 minutes later. Daylight is limited so we need to be timely. Even if no one RSVP's here there is always others meeting at the trail head. Just ask about Dave's Group.

After the ride some of us hang out at Dave's Cycle on Valley Road in Cos Cob. We usally order pizza and beer or grill dogs and burgers. This is a great time to discuss bikes, places to ride, and technique. ride is subject to weather and ground conditions

Mianus River Park has a tight network of both fire roads and singletrack. Good for novices and intermediate riders. The Mianus River runs along the east side of the property, so it is hard to get lost. Some climbs, short runs to bomb down, some tech sections. Overall a good workout trail with several interconnected loops. There are some log obstacles which you can find and try. Several carriage roads with singletrack offshoots. (courtesy of www.wmba.org)
