Join your fellow cycling enthusiasts--and overall cool folks--for the inaugural citizens bike ride around downtown Stamford. Together, we can create a more bike-friendly Stamford and encourage cycling as means of recreation, fitness, and transportation. Isn't it about time someone spoke up? We're not reinventing the wheel with this ride, but we'll sure be spinning it.
We'll be kicking things into high gear in Latham Park (across from the Avon Theatre) at 5:30pm, followed by a ride up Bedford Street, down Washington Boulevard to Harbor Point, and then back up Atlantic Street. Don't think you can handle it? Fear not! It's a wheely quick and painless 5.3 mile ride. Plus, we'll have some food and a whole lotta fun after the route.
Let's face it: A bicycle can't stand on its own because it's two tired--and neither can we. Bring your friends, coworkers, family, strangers, and, preferably, Bill Murray. With your help, we can make Stamford 'The City That Bikes.'
*Apologies for any and all bike-related puns.
