Dear Friends of Mianus River Park:

You may have noticed the terrible condition of the parking lots at the Stamford entrance on Merriebrook Lane.

City staff have worked with the Friends of Mianus River Park to prepare a renovation design for all parking areas near the red barn. The design includes “green infrastructure” to protect the river from harmful pollutants in stormwater runoff.

The work is divided into phases to make it easier to fund, with the lower parking lot (below the Red Barn) being “Phase 1.”

There is a request in Stamford’s[masked] Capital Budget to do the work, and your advocacy help convince decision makers of the importance of funding improvements to the parking lot.

The Board of Finance and the Board of Representatives are conducting a joint public meeting where you will have the chance to voice your polite support of it. If you have the time, please join us. The greater the number of supporters who show up, the greater the chance that the Boards will approve the parking lot project:

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
