This meet up meets the second Sunday of every month at ten am. I hope we can just get to know each other and maybe share some favorite books and deconversion stories. This will be a family friendly event.
I began this group because I wanted to meet other atheists in SE Georgia. The purpose of the group is social, in Statesboro and the surrounding community, theism, particularly Christianity is the norm. An atheist can feel very isolated. This group is intended to create a place where atheists can go be themselves, talk about issues of the day in ways that do not evoke the supernatural. It will also be a place to learn and teach effective means of dealing with challenges presented to those with this world view, including those "coming out" as an unbeliever to friends, families, and loved ones. This group is open to atheists, agnostics, free thinker, secular humanists, pantheists, even deists.
