Thank you everybody and especially the speakers!

You really showed the diversity of Big Data concept. I for sure had a great time. I hope we can do this soon again.

Thanks for organizing this meeting, Mikael! Unfortunately I could not attend the bar discussion, which was a real shame. To make the most of the meeting, I wrote a meeting report and published here: http://www.forum.santini.se/2012/09/meetup-report-big-data-predictive-modeling-whats-happening-in-sthlm/

I would be glad if inaccuracies, misinterpretations, typos, etc. are pointed out to me, so I can fix them. At the bottom of the post, I made a proposal. What do you think of it? It would great to share some data...

    Thanks again

    Trevlig helg till alla!

We launched in October of last year and are growing rapidly. We have since then served over 15000 consumers and helped many of them save tens of thousands of kr by lowering their credit costs. We are now 70 team members in our office at Stureplan 19.

Svensk Lånemarknad seems like a very utilitarian project with a high competence team; I got a great impression from my visit a while ago.

    Laurant,

I've looked into the possibilities to have a google hangout and its too hard to set it all up before tomorrow. But as you say, please deregister if you're not planning on attending.

    September 5, 2012

    • Laurent P.

Hi Mikael. I've tried to start a hangout from an iPad and it works pretty easily. Next time I can run it. Or try to, at least.

@Fredrik Same here so hacked some in the entry for an hour and just recently left. I think it'll be hard to get in now.

    September 6, 2012

  • Fredrik B.

I'm very late from work. Here now - the elevator won't let me up though.

  • Jonas G.

Will a bit late, like 6.30 - will I get in then?

Hey. Just wanted to mention that we're looking to expand our team with brilliant backend developers/data scientists and have some pretty interesting problems to work on. Hit me up at the meetup if you're interested. More info at http://www.tink.se/backend-developer.html

  • Ilyas I.

How can I say I'm going to attend? I don't find any such link to change my RSVP as Attending from Waiting list.

    September 6, 2012

    • Laurent P.

Agreed. Same here. Whenever we get this email saying there is space, there never is. On top of that, one would explain the waiting list to be ordered (it's a list, not a set, fellow developers...) so you get to enter the "yes" automatically when your turn comes.

      September 6, 2012

    • Meni M.

hi guys. i'll give my place up in a minute so you can have it. if you act quickly since as you said the waiting list is not ordered, very odd but this is a meetup "feature"

      September 6, 2012

  • Mikael H.

    Hey all,

Tomorrow is the Big (data) day!

For the directions: See map above. There are two entrances to the building. I suggest that you use the entrance at Norra Stationsgatan. When you enter the from Norra Stationsgatan, take a left just directly after the first stairs. Then take the elevator (The E elevators, You will only be able to reach the entrance to the office via the E elevator) up to the 6th floor. Another thing. The first talk is scheduled to start at 6:15 so please try and be there on time, 6pm.

    See you tomorrow

    September 5, 2012

  • Laurent P.

Could you guys run a google hangout for this meetup? Would be really nice for the few of us that are on the waiting list. Also, if some can't join, make sure to change your RSVP. Thanks a lot.

    Howdy,

Summer is (almost) over and the first meetup is in less than two weeks. In other words an excellent opportunity to share with you the list of speakers:

Johan Petterson, Big Data AB, "Hadoop @ king.com"
Erik Zeitler, Klarna AB, "Massively parallel stream processing"
Fredrik Olsson, Gavagai, "Understanding and Big Data: Ethersource as the Semantic Processing Layer in the Big Data Stack"
Amin Jalili, Department of Computer and Systems Sciences DSV, "Process mining"
Carl-Rickard Häggman, iZettle, "Big data from a startup perspective"
Josef Lindman Hörnlund, Klarna AB, " Quick and not so dirty data science with Random Forests"

    See you soon!
