Striding Gourmands Great Bay National Wildlife Refuge (Newington, NH) & Newick's

Memorial Day Weekend. I'm keeping it local, because *I* don't want to drive (rather, be stuck in traffic). ;^)

I'm excited to check out this local resource, as I volunteer on the other side at Great Bay Discovery Center.

We've got about a 2 mile hike here. Depending on how we feel and how long it takes, we can also check out Wagon Hill Farm on Route 4 just beyond Dover Point on the way to Durham. I've been wanting to check it out. Should provide alternate spectacular views of Great Bay.

After we've earned our appetite, we'll head to Newick's for lunch. I haven't been in a few years, but visits always entertain me since I was a waitress there a looooong time ago while attending UNH.

Thanks for a great outing, Striders! Nice group today and we lucked out with the weather. Sorry it turned out to be "old home" week at Newick's. Had no idea I'd be remembered that way.

We're on! The weather continues to threaten but so be it. A little moisture won't kill us, and maybe we'll luck out. Planning to meet at 9:30 in the parking area at the Great Bay National Refuge Area (off Arboretum Drive from Gosling Rd exit into Pease) on Sunday, May 25.

We'll do the Ferry Way Trail once we're all together. It's listed as a one-hour moderate hike. Depending on time and interest, we can also do the Peverly Pond hike (20 minutes, easy) for a different view of things.

After, I'm still planning on heading over to Newick's for a bite.

My number is[masked], if you have questions between now and then. Let the long holiday weekend begin! ~Andrea
