I have changed the meetup from Monday to Sunday, since it's going to be in Spanish on Sunday.

Eduardo Galeano is one of Latin America’s most distinguished writers. He is the author of the three-volume Memory of Fire, as well as Open Veins of Latin America, Soccer in Sun and Shadow, Days and Nights of Love and War, The Book of Embraces, Walking Words, We Say No, Upside Down, Mirrors, and Voices of Time. Born in Montevideo in 1940, Galeano lived in exile in Argentina and Spain for years before returning to Uruguay in 1985. His work has been translated into thirty languages and he is the recipient of many international prizes, including the first Lannan Prize for Cultural Freedom, the American Book Award, the Casa de las Américas Prize, and the First distinguished Citizen of the region by the countries of Mercosur. An outspoken critic of the dehumanizing effects of imperialist globalization on modern society, he is a consistent and passionate advocate for human rights and social justice.

Galeano will discuss his work and a recent book "Children of the Days" with Peruvian author, Marie Arana.

I have posted this meetup for the Chicago Spanish Language Meetup Group as well, so it's going to be a combined meetup of 2 groups.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
