Melissa: Regarding the attendance issue. I think the season of the year and meeting times are a factor. During the summer months is very hard for people to get away because of so much other events to attend. Perhaps Fall,Winter and Spring only would be of more interest to more people. Also, dinner hours between 5-7pm may be to early and difficult to make for many working people. Perhaps meeting times between 7: to 9 PM would be of more interest.
In addition, have you considered inviting certain speakers ( like maybe a Spanish instructor) who is active in promoting the Spanish speaking language. If I can think of any other ideas, I will be glad to submit. In my case, it seems that something else is always preventing me from attending any of the past meeting.
You and Kim are doing a great job and I sincerely appreciate your earnest efforts. Art Cano

Subject: [West-Suburban-Spanish] Attendance at meetings...
Kim and I are concerned about attendance. We would welcome any input if you have unique ideas or ideas on themes for meetings.
You can let us know what you value in one or two ways. Kim and I will take emails or you can vote in the polls I put up. You can get to these polls by going under more and the drop-down to polls. You will see a "!" if you have not voted. There will be one new poll as well as several old ones. We are most interested in knowing what days of the week and/or weekend are best for meetings. Also them poll on themes help us to gague topic interest better.
