Sorry, had to delete the previous Meetup details for this Meetup as I kept repeating it on ever Wednesday. Yes folks, it is that time of year again to get down and dirty in the most colourful of ways! It is the annual Indian festival of Colours, Holi. This is a fun and chaotic event and an absolute photographers paradise. If you have been before you know what to expect. For those of you who are coming for the first time be prepared for some unexpected images. The concept of Holi is very simple get loads of coloured powder and throw it on each other! Do not wear your best clothes or brand new pair of shoes as the dye can cause staining. Be careful with your camera gear and try and be aware of what is happening around you as you don't want the powder to be accidentally thrown at your equipment. Some photographers wrap plastic bags around their gear to protect it. Be polite to other people and their children attending the festival and if you want to photograph someone just ask them. I have found at previous Holi events I have been to people are usually more than happy to have their photograph taken. Take water, sunscreen and a hat if it is sunny.
