World Press Photo Exhibition 2012

  • Jul 21, 2012 · 10:30 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

The World Press Photo exhibition showcases the world's best photojournalism from 2011. As always, over 200 photos will be on display at the State Library. Many will inspire and many will shock. Eitherway, it's a must see. Along the way, you can also feast your eyes on some of the best photos from the Photo 1440 exhibition on the otherside of the hallway.

The plan will be to meet outside the Glasshouse Cafe at The State Library at 10:30am. We will then wander through both exhibitions for a couple of hours before returning to the Glasshouse Cafe for a bite to eat.

Thanks to organizers for this event. I really enjoyed seeing all those beautiful, inspiring photographs. This one was my favorite, by Paolo Pellegrin. Resembles to Sugimoto's famous seascapes where here the sea is replaced with the debris, kind of sea of past lives. Truly amazing.. http://www.worldpressphoto.org/photo/2012-paolo-pellegrin-gns2-jl?gallery=2634

Great variety of images, many from the troubled parts of the world giving us glances into how some far less fortunate people live day to day. Very inspirational and ...connecting with the mankind.
