I don't quite fit into vegan or vegetarian. Two years ago "Forks Over Knives" was screened at FSU and I went to see it. Afterwards, I changed my diet very much towards a vegan diet and dropped 30 points off of my total cholesterol. I would say that I eat a very-near-vegan diet but make an exception a couple of meals a week. I work in a healthcare environment (I'm a technology manager who is also a nurse) and my co-workers are alternately fascinated with and disgusted by the meals that I prepare in our kitchen.
I'm interested in all the above. I went to one meet-up so far (the Publix cooking class) and I enjoyed it a lot. It's a very intelligent crowd and I liked getting ideas to spice up my diet as well as getting to meet some great people.
