Eschaton 2012: A Conference Celebrating Reason at the End of the World

Hi Atheist Friends,

Apocalypse NOT!

We're pleased to invite you to Eschaton 2012: A Conference Celebrating Reason at the End of the World

Nov 30 - Dec 2, 2012 in Ottawa http://www.eschaton2012.ca/

The world is probably not ending. Now stop worrying, and celebrate reason!

The Centre for Inquiry invites you to join us in Ottawa where PZ Myers, Eugenie Scott, as well as former University of Lethbridge Religious Studies Department Chair Jim Linville and Waterloo Mathematics Professor and ID/creationism authority Jeffrey Shallit, will lead a stellar cast of speakers for a weekend gathering of scientists, philosophers, authors, academics, skeptics, rationalists, humanists, atheists, and freethinkers, where you can see presentations and join discussions on science, skepticism, secularism, godless ethics, and with religious topics spanning everything from the Mayan Calendar to Old Testament scholarship. You can even participate in a live recording of Canada's skeptical podcast, "The Reality Check".

Saturday evening we present our gala "Night at the Museum" (held at the Canadian Museum of Nature), which includes a reception, talk by PZ Myers, and late night special events, with exclusive access to the Fossil Gallery and Earth Gallery.

Centre for Inquiry Canada members may still receive a $50 discount when you register so this is a great time to finally join the CFI. This discount won't last much longer so please visit http://www.eschaton2012.ca/ to register now.

The 100th registrant will receive a copy of Christopher Hitchens last work, Mortality, signed by a variety of our distinguished speakers.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
