Music Mondays - A brief history:

The Church of the Holy Trinity in downtown Toronto, in the centre of Trinity Square just behind the Eaton Centre, has always been recognised for its marvellous acoustical space and has been used for events like the performance and recording of CBC's "Music Around Us" radio series, "the Trinity Sessions" by the Cowboy Junkies, and the acclaimed CD "Gonna Sing and Shout" by the Echo Women's Choir.

Music Mondays was started in 1992 as an independent community music series and has become an important venue for evolving musical talent in the downtown community.

Music Mondays offers a glorious spectrum of musicians from Toronto and all around the world with a wide range of cultural traditions and musical genres. We have been privileged to receive funding in past years from sources such as the Toronto Arts Council, Toronto Community Foundation, the Bickle Foundation, as well as private sponsorships.

Church of The Holy Trinity boasts a magnificent acoustical space and two fine concert instruments (piano and organ) which have attracted many professional and community music groups to use this space.

Holy Trinity has recently acquired a new organ. It is a Casavant organ built in 1970 for Deer Park United Church. It is a magnificent instrument and we are very excited to have been allowed to purchase it.In 2011 the organ from Deer Park United Church was moved and installed in Holy Trinity. Built in 1970, Casavant Opus 3095 has mechanical key action, electric stop action with 3,557 pipes, comprising 48 stops and 74 ranks. Given the church’s excellent acoustics, Holy Trinity has become a superb venue for concerts showcasing the new pipe organ.

The Church of the Holy Trinity is located at 10 Trinity Square in downtown Toronto. Trinity Square is surrounded by the Eaton Centre on the east side, the Dundas/Bay Parking garage and Canadian Tire store on the north side and office buildings on the west side. Therefore it is difficult to see from the street. From inside the Eaton Centre at the south end of the Sears store, exit via the west side doors and you will immediately see the square and the church.

All concerts begin at 12:15 pm and usually run for 45 minutes.
Suggested donation: $5.00
