Introduction
My encounter with journalism was like a date with a soulmate: I knew at first sight we would be companions for life. The future of news does matter to me.
What's your job?
I normally work in publishing, as an international sales manager, but I am in-between jobs at the moment. All other times I am a freelance journalist and blogger and forever a student of journalism.
What are you interested in discussing?
Digital platforms and digital rights, paywalls, "best-buy gadget advice" for media peeps, blogging, social media, hyperlocal, data-scraping/mashing and CAR, informatics, data visualisation, crowdsourcing, investigative journalism
What kind of speakers would you be interested in hearing from?
Specialists in CAR and numeracy for journalists, hyperlocal bloggers, media law experts, multimedia journalists, web editors, data analysts.
What are your favourite online / mobile media tools?
I love blogging/blogs as a. expression of my creativity, b. way to showcase my writing skills, c. tool to engage with niche communities, d. sanity saver, e. glimpse into what others are thinking.
