The Uncanny Book-Club #4: I Am the Messenger

Ed Kennedy is an underage cabdriver without much of a future. He's pathetic at playing cards, hopelessly in love with his best friend, Audrey, and utterly devoted to his coffee-drinking dog, the Doorman. His life is one of peaceful routine and incompetence until he inadvertently stops a bank robbery.

That's when the first ace arrives in the mail. That's when Ed becomes the messenger.

Join the Uncanny Book-Club for a vivid discussion of the 2005 Michael L. Printz Honor Book winning book by Markus Zusak.

Hi there, so question about the rules of the club. =) Is everyone attending your meetups supposed to have already read the selected book, or is it ok to be there and listen to what is being said about the book, in order to then decide whether or not to read the book?

      Hi Ahoo!

It's perfectly fine to sit in without having read the book. We usually have about two or three people who haven't yet read the book or aren't finished yet. Fair warning though: Discussions usually involve major plot elements, so you'll most likely hear spoilers. If that doesn't bother you, there is nothing keeping you from attending :-)

If there is anything else I can help you with, let me know. Happy New Year!
