After the matinee show, we'll have an early dinner at one of the Federal Hill restaurants.

Here are the particulars:

Carpool:  11:00 a.m. from Roche Brothers in Mashpee

Matinee Show Time:  1:00 p.m.

Tickets are between $50 and $70.  see purchasing ticket info further below

Genre:  Romance, Dance, Musical

Flashdance the Musical is based on the 1983 film of the same name. It starred Jennifer Beals, who went on to act in movies and television shows. Its iconic chair dance scene, wherein the film’s main character dances to the song "Flashdance" before pouring water on herself, became the basis of Jennifer Lopez music video in 2003 "I’m Glad".

The stage adaptation premiered in July 2009 in the U.K., with a Broadway production and a U.S. tour emerging in 2011. Songs include the Academy Award-winning song "Flashdance – What a Feeling," as well as "Maniac," and "I Love Rock & Roll." Choreography is by Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys, Memphis); Robert Cary directs.

18 year old Alex Owens is a steel mill welder by day, bar dancer by night. Set in Pittsburgh, Alex harbors dreams of becoming a professional dancer and attending Shipley Dance Academy, a prestigious school. When a romance with her steel mill boss threatens her ambitions, Alex must decide what’s more important — love, or her dreams?
