Summer clean-up at the Hastings-Sunrise Teaching Garden

Lets have a workparty on Tue, Aug 27 from 3 to 6. The garden is at the corner of E. Pender and Lilloet.

Some activities that need doing:
  • stake tomatoes & raspberries (belatedly)
  • prune tomatoes
  • plant fall greens & herbs
  • cut and mulch comfrey
  • cut and mulch border cover
  • a bit of weeding
  • harvest chard, zucchini, beans, tomatoes, raspberries

The Hastings-Sunrise Teaching Garden is a community resource whose primary purposes are to be a living classroom for organic, sustainable gardening practices, to supply food for programs at Hastings Community Centre and a place to celebrate fresh home-grown food.
