I STARTED THIS GROUP BECAUSE POLE WALKING is G-R-E-A-T! I know about health and fitness! I had the opportunity to compete in the Olympic Games in rowing, but my biggest achievement was putting my body back together after a devastating car accident. Not only that I'm a workshop facilitator; I love empowering people to take action for their own results...especially health and fitness. I tried pole walking in the summer of 2009 to strengthen my arms and shoulders so that I could carry the Winter Olympic Torch in style (hahahaaa..look good on TV) a few months later. To my delight, I discovered that pole walking is G-R-E-A-T with so many benefits . . . and I never stopped pole walking! I love it...easy, fresh air, effective.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS GROUP is: 1) TO FIND A BUDDY TO POLE WALK WITH, 2) TO LEARN HOW YOU CAN USE THIS MEET-UP FORUM TO FIND A BUDDY TO WALK WITH, 3) TO CREATE A COMMUNITY OF NORDIC POLE WALKERS easily through social media Meet-up, 4) AND MAKE NEW FRIENDS WHILE GETTING FIT with Nordic Pole Walking.
THE ROLE OF COACH LINDA SCHAUMLEFFEL: Here's how I view my role: to promote Nordic Pole walking and find people who want to learn, teach them how to Nordic Pole walk, make sure they have equipment, create an info center for NORDIC pole walking (www.learntopolewalkwithlinda.ca), organize events, THEN SEND THEM TO THIS MEET-UP GROUP TO FIND POLE WALKING BUDDIES. Maybe I have to teach them/you how to use this social media with confidence so that YOU can send invitations for other pole walkers to go for a (free) pole walk with you. AS ADMINISTRATOR OF THIS MEET-UP SITE, I have set the controls so that YOU CAN CLICK ON THE CALENDAR AND INVITE EXPERIENCED POLE WALKERS TO GET TOGETHER WITH YOU AND JUST WALK!

If nobody says "YES", don't worry. Try another date and time. I am working as fast as I can to find lots of people, train them in nordic pole walking, and get them over to Meet-Up...so there are more and more people looking for buddies to pole walk with.
