This group is for anyone in the Basingstoke and surrounding areas who wants to walk and talk and thus expand their social life. Regular walks offered as follows:
Evening walks (from 1 May 2015) - £2 per person
Walks over 6 miles and those that include a treat like mince pies etc. - £3 per person
Treasure Hunts - £4 per member ; £5 guests; £2 for children. These will include prizes.
Most walks will include a pub lunch or afternoon tea afterwards and on weekends we will have either a longer walk on a Sunday or I will include a visit to a National Trust property or other venue of interest such as gardens, castle, museum, exhibition or outdoor event to which I will invite members of the Basingstoke Meetup Group. If you sign up on the Basingstoke Meetup Group for the added on event and also wish to do the walk you still have to pay for the walk as this will be hosted by “Basingstoke Walking Group.”
I will endeavour to make each walk interesting and informative and for the mid-week walks will issue participants with a fact sheet summarising my commentary. Each walk will also end with a pub lunch or afternoon tea.
I am an experienced walk leader, a member of Basingstoke Ramblers and I have Public Liability Insurance.
Friends are always welcome as long as you add them to your RSVP. Dogs welcome upon request. (Check with me first and please read guidance in the “Pages” section of the tool bar.)
Applications are made online, following the simple guidelines on our website. You just need to answer a few questions, supply your proper first name (no code names permitted) and a photo that up to date and clearly of you. (No pictures of scenery, pets or cartoons.) The reason a photo is required is so that I know who you are and so that members can recognise you at events. If you want anonymity then this group is not for you.
So please join now!
NB “Basingstoke Walking Group” and “Basingstoke Meetup Group” are both lead and organised by Anne Murrill Leisure and Travel.
