For this season, players will be creating their characters using the following books: Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms, Heroes of the Fallen Lands and the 4E Player’s Handbook.

Wealth flows into the city of Baldur’s Gate like water. As the rich luxuriate in their mansions atop the bluff and artisans ply their trades on the steep streets, masses of poor laborers swell the slums. Money and power beget political scandal, religious fervor, crime . . . and murder. No one feels safe on the rain-darkened streets. Strange, foreign gods are beseeched in secret shrines. The city is rife with corruption. And through it all, the body count keeps rising.

Murder in Baldur's Gate presents the city in the time of the Sundering, a period that will define the future of the Forgotten Realms.

Murder in Baldur's Gate allows characters to participate in important events connected to the Sundering and glimpse the future of the Forgotten Realms.

"The 4E Player’s Handbook" Does this mean all three of the player handbooks? Specifically, the Hybrid class of PHB3? I was going to go for an Elf Hybrid Bard-Ranger. Would this be a "Legal" class?

    • Jay

      Sorry...no Hybrids, no Bards.

Everyone...when you're building your characters for this season, please keep in mind that this is a city adventure and will focus a LOT more on roleplaying than combat! Please use a standard array when creating your characters and please keep to the sources listed above to keep an even playing field for all players.

It's detailed at the top of the page in the RED type...Anything from the two Essentials book or the Player's Handbook.

Is it possible to have at least one group using DnD Next rules? Because I believe that that's an official option usually and they have conversion things in the latest playtest packet.

At this point we have no DMs that want to run using that system. If you, or someone you know is willing to make the commitment, you can speak with Kevin.

What level character should we be creating? lvl 1?

    August 14, 2013

  • Matthew P.

Okay, I jumped on the bandwagon and made a mage, then :) Hopefully not everyone else did, like last season! But then I'll not likely be able to play the whole season.

Hey, Matthew....take a better look above: The only books we're allowing for this season are the PHB, Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms and Heroes of the Fallen Lands. Sorry, but the Vryloka Werewolf needs to be shelved for a future game.
