Last time we gathered the party was moving west across Greyhawk looking for safe passage to the Keep on The Borderlands. Their trip, aided by a friendly Druid and his companion Black Bear lead our heroes to the road north of Homlett. But, only after the party was attacked by a foolish and small group of bandits. Then a flying magical creature known as a Peyton nearly took the Female Drow with a single hit which left her at -8 hit points. However, they made it to the north road and this is where they were given advice, counsel, and bode farewell.
As the Druid and companion returned to the safety of the forest, our heroes headed west across the low hills. They encountered many of the areas inhabitants... Because they were making haste, they walked right into a pack of wild dogs. The battle raged. Then they were attacked by a mountain lion. The next day as they lost track of direction unknowingly, they stumbled into the path of two giant spiders returning from a successful hunt. Again, the Ranger falls to poison. Spells are depleted, our party suffers severe damage, but eventually the spiders are beaten. "What's this the half-orc says... A pouch dragged by one of the spiders?" Our heroes save the life of a Half-elven Magic-User/Thief and he joins our heroes on their adventure (welcome Steve!) They wake and spook a potential meal of venison that was grazing near their camp. Our heroes are running low on rations, and would benefit from new supplies. As they move onward they witness a herd of wild stallions moving swiftly across the plains. The next day is overcast and the newest member of the party is unable to aid them with his direction sense as they travel north near a forest. This is where they encounter a wild pack of wolves. The battle is fierce! It rages for more than 15 rounds! Our heroes survive, but again have spent all and left much on the battlefield.
The next three days are spent without incident. They make their way past the forest and find what they believe to be the road that runs to The Keep on the Borderland! However, they have spent 15 days on a journey expected to only take7 days. They are unsure of their path, but faith, courage, and the determination to make their journey complete seems to be on their side! Next week they head north and with any luck hope to find safety at the keep.
Hope to see everyone again next week!
