We'll meet @ Bogani Cafe at 12:30 p.m., form car pools, then head out. See Alpacas, see the mill, shop at the store...

So, the question was what were the aplacas' natural predator. Checked on line, and there were quite a few - Andean condor, wild cat, and pumas. (Plus domestic/feral dogs and people of course.)

Update on the alpaca "situation". Randy is interested in us getting some alpacas next year potentially instead of cattle. WAY better choice, I say! We are going to visit the Alpaca Fair in November during Farm Expo at Edmonton Northlands and talk to some breeders to get further information. Heehee.... :)

That sounds great! We can have a field trip to see them after you get them. (Gonna share the fleece?)

Barb, I have a few photos. Do you want me to add them to last year's field trip or do you want to create a new album?
0 · July 15, 2013
Hey, Jenny. I just uploaded some of mine in an album attached to this field trip. (I swear that black one wanted to come home with me.)
Thanks Linda! I was able to add mine in after yours. :) Somehow, I felt they all should come home with us... ;)
Please be sure to upload your best photos to the photo page here on this site.
I'm glad that you all had a good time, me too!
Had a great time, it was great to see the alpacas and was wonderful to see how a mill functions. It was great to see everyone again. Randy and Ava also had a great time! Thanks for being so welcoming. :)

That was great fun, learned a lot about Alpaca. Also inspired to blog about their business.
Beautiful day, great tours and interesting facts from Leanne and Kevin of Twisted Sisters.

I will be bring Randy (my spouse) and Ava (his daughter) and Vanessa will be coming with us. We will meet you all at Bogani's. Unfortunately, our vehicle will be full. Looking forward to seeing everyone. (Psst, don't tell, but I'm trying to convince Randy it might be a good idea to eventually buy some alpacas for the farm and he wants to come check out what this "fiber-thing" is all about.) LOL :)
I'll bring little maps to pass out to drivers at Bogani's.
I'll be driving and can take 2.
I am so disappointed to have to cancel. Will be visiting my Mom in Arizona and I can't get back by the 13th. Have fun!

Bee: we'll miss your knowledge.
My tea menu is planned and I have it organized so I am coming. If anyone needs a ride I can drive or if there is a seat available I will join in.

Sorry, something has come up that I won't be able to attend, everyone have fun!! See you all on Wednesday :-)
This is from Leanne at Twisted Sisters:That sounds great! Hopefully the weather is good, we have 14 beautiful babies (maybe more by the weekend) the store is stocked well as we have done up most of our own clip already. If there is 21 we will probably do two tours of the mill, it gets pretty cramped with that many. With 4 year old she can come in if they watch her closely, thanks for advising them of this.
You are right we do not have a debit machine, we do accept visa, mastercard and cheques.
We look forward to seeing you!
Randy and I are going to attend. We will meet everyone down there.
Hello everyone. I am 99 percent sure I'll be able to attend. I live in Ardrossan so I'll just meet you all there. This sounds like so much fun. Can't wait.

Mom (Evelyn) and I will be meeting you out there at 1pm.
Where is the mill and is this like all afternnoon? Please let me know as it sounds interesting. Thanks

for a map, see www.twistedsistersmill.com
Yes, it is all afternoon.
Is it okay if I bring my spouse and his 4 year old daughter? He's actually really interested in coming to see the magic behind all my yarn. Does anyone mind if I bring them along?
Sure Jenny, although your spouse will have to keep a close watch on his daughter when we're in the mill due to all of the machinery--not exactly child-proof. Last year, Lois brought her grandchildren and their mother and they elected to stay outside during the tour of the mill so that may be the best option for you guys.
I can drive and take 3 others.

I will drive as well.

I would love to do this. What will we see at the mill. Anything in operation at the time of the visit?
0 · May 22, 2013
I put up pictures and a video from last year here. http://www.squidoo.co...
It was really great! And bring cash or credit card, because they don't take debit.

There's also some photos attached to the meet-up from last year that I took.
I'll have my vehicle, so if anyone is needing a ride I can drive as well.
I love to come. I would like to meet you ladies and your group. May I join a car pool? I need a ride. Thanks.
Nooo... That's Art Walk weekend!
I've been wanting to do this! Thanks for organizing it, Barb (?).
Great idea! I look forward to it! If I drive, and I would be glad to do so, I can take three passengers.
