Nice to get out for an evening to see what everyone's been up to. And I have the loan of double-pointed needles to finish my project! THANK YOU! :D

Can anyone bring an extra set of needles and some yarn for me to practice on ? I would like to try this! If I enjoy it, I will purchase my
own stuff. Thanks to anyone if you can:) Jim

Oh, good: another male joins the flock! Where I'm from, a guy who can knit is the rule rather than the exception - the afghan on my bed was knitted by my late husband as a birthday gift. I'll bring the book I taught myself to knit with. Very practical, it assumes you know nothing and are starting from scratch (which I was).

Jenny, your comment about knitting being meditative reminds me of the book I'm working through: Mindful Knitting. It ties in well with my Buddhist practice. Have you seen it, or would you like me to bring my copy so you can have a look?

Thanks for the offer beth, that would be wonderful to look at the book! I will also check my stash to see if I have the needles you need. Does it matter what material (wood, metal, etc) and length of DPN?

Happy to oblige; I've tucked it into my knitting bag so I won't be halfway to town before remembering it. :) The needles are for a pair of flip-top gloves I was knitting for my husband...who died 16 months ago. Talk about an interrupted project! I'm pretty new at 2-pointed knitting, but find it straightforward once the pattern's established, so I don't think needle material matters. (The originals were metal, stolen from the hospital room after I slipped the stitches onto 2 long needles to get a better grasp of the pattern).

I'm determined to spend more time with my Mindful Knitting this year. I have to do a bunch of things to get ready for court (paperwork - and relax, I'm just a witness), but everything should be done before 7. Buddha willing. (PS....anyone got a spare set of 2.25 mm double-ended needles for sale cheap? Got a project to finish, needles are gone, and budget is very tight. Please and thankyou).
