A large noisy positive group. Lots of fun and fellowship!
Ladies I'm sorry I'm still at work and this is not a good impressions for anew member BUT I will see you soon - please accept my apologize
Cancelling out again, I am really sick with this cold.
Oops, that does sound a bit freaky to a newcomer. I meant totes and pins, not toes and pins. We are buying zippered project bags( totes) and pins with our new Wandering Woolies logo on them. More on the discussion page. Funny what a typo can do eh? And I'm an editor! For shame.

Just me, this time. :-)
Hi Barb- the toes and pins funds? This is my first time meeting the group :)
I just spoke to Cafe Tiramisu, at least someone there, and we have a reservation booked. I'm looking forward to seeing you all. Please remember to bring your totes and pins funds.
Louise and I will be there!
won't be there but i will see you next time
I'll just be happy to see you whenever Barb.
I have said I am coming on March 13. I want to but, first though, I plan to attend a 7 pm talk by Cathy Roy at the Royal Alberta Museum on "Handweaving: An Alberta History." As Cafe Tiramisu and the Museum are located quite close together I am hoping that I can do both. I will certainly stop in at the Cafe before I drive home and check if any of you are still sitting there knitting/crocheting/whatever.
Whoops, I just noticed that I already wrote all this a month ago. Sorry to duplicate the message.
So it's definate a go at the Cafe?

HI Guys, I reached someone there this morning :) they reopen today at 5pm. Cant wait to check it out.
Melanie: thanks. I was just thinking about that and how they haven't returned my call from the message that I left for them yesterday. I guess I'll have to pick another venue. Of our current selection of venues, which would you suggest, given that you're the one who contacted me?

Barb, I don't think Cafe tiramisu will be open by next week. There was a water main break a few weeks ago and it's been closed. When I drove by on Tuesday they had paper covering the windows so I don't know how the renos are going.
Thanks Barb. I doubt that any of us would consider you a meeting disrupter. Far from it, in fact. Thanks for the information.

I know that we have a meetup on March 13 at Cafe Tiramisu. Nearby, though, at the Royal Alberta Museum [masked] Ave) there is a free talk that same evening at 7 that I would like to attend. I don't want to disrupt the regular meetings of the Woolies but just want to call this to the attention of fibre people. Maybe some others would be interested in attending, as well. It is by Cathy Roy, Curator of Western Canadian History. She will be speaking on "Hand Weaving: An Albertan history". The description of the talk says "Albertan weavers were at the forefront of the hand weaving resurgence of the mid-twentieth century. How did this isolated region become so influential? Hear about the ongoing research in the Western Canadian History program." The notice said the the museum will be open from 5 to 7, before Cathy's talk for a viewing of the galleries and gift shop.

I meant to add, I am not aware of any knitting in particular on display at that time at the Royal Alberta Museum but there is a very interesting Inuit doll exhibit on display.
