*Changes made: Cafe lunch only, folding stools probably OK as long as they're set up in an out-of-the way area, but no watercolors (unless you have one of those cartridge brushes that keeps the water contained.)
Bring sketchbooks, and wander around the Natural History museum sketching with media of choice, then meet back at the main lobby cafe at noon for lunch to compare sketches and talk about any other current art projects we're all working on.
Note that later in the day there will be science events at the University of Utah starting at 4 pm in honor of Charles Darwin and his work in evolutionary biology. Events will include a speaker on evolutionary biology. I thought this would be a nice beginning to the "Celebration of Science" afternoon at the U.
Pencil, sharpener, eraser
Tinted sketchbook with both light and dark pencils
Fine-tipped drawing pens
Cash for admission ($11.00 ) and lunch at the cafe
Folding stool(???) There aren't many good places to *sit* in the museum, which I find rather a nuisance as far as sketching is concerned, so currently, plan on standing for most of your sketching. I talked to two people at the museum and they said it would probably be OK to bring them though, and if not we'll just be asked to leave them at the front desk.
