Their monthly walks continue year-round at the Saw Mill River Audobon Society's largest sanctuary: Brinton Brook in Croton-on-Hudson. I thought it might be nice to see what they have to offer. Held regardless of weather except in cases of severe weather or road closures. More details to follow.

Great time! I want you to know I accessorized my purple boots with some red spikes! Talk about nature vs. nurture! Thanks again Catherine!

The Brinton Brook Walk with the Audobon Society was wonder-filled. Catherine, our leader, and Mike, from The Audobon Society were terrific. The trail was beautiful and easy. Had a great time especially with the lady who wore Purple Hiking Boots. :-)

Catherine, Thanks for all that you did to make this an awsome hike. Mike from the Audobon Society was wonderfully informed about the location and helped make it an enlightening experience. Namaste, John

I'm sorry for the late cancel. I've come home late and down with a cold. Hate to miss the hike, yet hoping someone else can take the slot. Enjoy!

Hi I am on the wait list. When do I get to know if I can come or not (just want to plant for Saturday ahead of time).

    Thanks

If a spot opens up, you will get an email. It all depends on when someone cancels and how many people are ahead of you on the list.

Thanks, Pat. We had to change the location due to snow in the parking lot, but this was a big help. Thanks for taking the initiative.

    Looking forward to Saturday, everyone.
UPDATE ON LOCATION AND PARKING - The parking lot is still inaccessible due to snow. We will meet at a parking area on Arrowcrest and car pool to the location. (Need one other car who can take 5 ppl).
MEET AT 8:45 a.m. AT THE ENTRANCE TO HUDSON NATIONAL GOLF COURSE. For GPS use 8 Arrowcrest Drive (off Route 9A).

The meetup address has been changed accordingly. We are attending this walk courtesy of the Saw Mill River Audubon Society, so please be considerate of them and those on the wait list by changing your RSVP to NO asap if your plans have changed. (This includes those on the wait list.) Please don't wait until Friday night as those wait listed probably won't be able to change their plans that quickly.

Suggest sturdy shoes that can get through patches of snow or thaw. If you have grippers for your shoes like yak tracks or stabilicers, you may want to bring them too.

I looked up at the map, but it seems like it's right on route 9A, but are you sure of the location?

I am going by there today to verify the meeting location.

No sure why there would be a wait list for a walk outdoors.

Why is there a wait list? This is an outdoor activity. Can someone please answer this question for me.

The group size was dictated by the Audobon Society walk leader. As pointed out by Pat, parking is also limited. They do this walk regularly, so we can do it again if you want to.

Thank you Pat for the location.
since i was on the waiting list, thinking I will not be able to go, i went there yesterday. The place is beautiful. Still lots of snow remaining. The parking lot was covered with snow, so there weren't many spaces to park. Car pooling would be the best. Enjoy !

Is this a relatively easy hike or lots of hills (since it's in Croton-on-Hudson?) This is an area I'd love to live near someday.... As usual, I'm late getting to the "party" and am on the waiting list. If I end up going, I'd love to carpool with anyone from NorthEastern Westchester: ride or drive.

Hi Catherine, how long a walk is this?
    Thanks!

Hey! I hope everybody is enjoying the snow as much I am. Another storm is on the way(awesome).

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
