Learn about molecular biology, growing algae and DNA modification

Each week we spend 15-20 minutes learning about DNA, RNA, proteins, the makeup of the cell, how DNA is modified through synthetic biology, and wet lab techniques.  When we accumulate enough equipment and finalize a location with a sink, we'll set up our wet lab to conduct experiments to genetically modify bacteria and algae for a range of interests.

We are also working on building algae bioreactors and electronic sensors to monitor the growth and physical characteristics of algae. 

Finally, we'll study reviewed scientific papers to learn about the exciting work currently conducted at professional labs around the world.
