Hey fellow writers,
We're planning on having another meeting on June 1st. Although it was a good meeting where we got to talk about Ken's deliciously creepy completed short story, we only had a few folks show up this time; I'd like to get that back to six or seven! Remember, even if you are too busy to write anything every month, it'd still be great to hear your critique of other submissions, and just conversation about writing in general. Don't be shy!
The next prompt is brought to you by Celia Mater! It was good to meet you at this last get together, and I hope to see you next month. The prompt is as follows:
"My suggestion for a prompt for June is the following: Pick either Mothers' Day or Fathers' Day. I thought of this because both Mother and Father are 'loaded' terms and could go any of a number of ways."
So, there it is. Have at it, everyone. Feel free to use this as inspiration for a poem, short story, etc. Also remember that your piece doesn't have to use this prompt in order to get critiqued; it's only meant for inspiration. Just submit your work under the "Files" tab (under the "More" tab), and come up with some thoughtful, constructive critique of the other submissions you find.
Please have the submission you want to have critiqued in by 5/25. The meeting is on 6/1 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Rockwell Public Library. Please try to read and think carefully about all of the other submissions before the meetup.
PS: Also, remember that you can request to have any piece critiqued online if you can't make it to the meeting. I'd be more than happy to do so!
