Greetings fellow writers!
July's prompt is brought to you in a timely manner by Doug. It is: Patriotism. Feel free to write a little something about this prompt, or whatever else may come to mind in next month's meetings. As always, please submit your work under the "Files" tab found in the "More" tab a week before the meeting (6/29).
Also, be sure to look over other people's work carefully so we can have a meaningful discussion at the meetup. Usually, the only works that are read aloud at the actual meeting are poems. However, many of the submissions are short stories or chapters, so be sure to check the files tab for submissions the week before the meetup.
Please let me know ASAP if this date/time isn't going to work for you. If enough people aren't going to be able to make it (since it's vaguely close to a holiday, people might be taking a long weekend vacation), we'll change the date. Just post a comment as early as you can so we can figure it out early.
Also, I've suggested meeting at Mead's Corner again. This is because the last couple of meetings have had a smaller turnout; it's pretty reasonable to fit up to five in the cafe. The library costs $15 to reserve, and we haven't had a large turnout since we've been doing it. If we have enough people RSVP, I may try to reserve a room at the Rockwell Library. Again, just RSVP as soon as you can so I can make changes early.
I look forward to seeing everyone again!
