Wild Edible and Medicinal Plants (Janice's Group) Sunday, August 5th 10am to 12pm
Come out and learn to identify the edible and medicinal wild plants growing in your yard and fields. Many of the plants we trample under foot can be added to our salads, smoothies or even our stir fries, or used as valuable and safe medicines. We will observe, smell and even taste some of these helpers from nature.

This class is geared toward adults and older children (10 and older), but younger children are welcome to attend and can play on our playset if they get bored.

Cost: $15 for adults, $5 for young people (10 and up), no charge for children under 10.
RSVP To: nettlejuice@gmail. com (remove the space when emailing)
Our presenter will monitor the respondants and send out reminders. If there are 10 or more of us, she has agreed to offer us the group rate of $10. Class size is limited to 15. If the date doesn't work for you, she offers a number of other classes which you can check out via her blog: http://www.nettlejuice.blogspot.com/ From our presenter: Just off the top of my head right now, I'm thinking we might talk about some of the following...jewelweed, wood sorrel, clover, mullein, st. john's wort, nettles, mallow, elder, yellowdock, catnip, monarda, goldenrod, lobelia, pineapple weed, plantain, ground ivy, yarrow, black walnut, wild carrot, wild lettuce...

Our presenter has offered an alternate date in the event of rain:

We have set up a raindate for Sunday the 12th at the same time. We just checked the local forecast and it looks like the rain is not expected until the afternoon, but you never know.  Please check your email in the morning before driving out. She will make the call by 8:30am at the latest.

Excellent class. April is so very knowledgeable and generous. She geared the class perfectly in terms of information and pacing. What a great experience on a beautiful, sunny, summer's day!
