FANTASY for novels, and SCIENCE FICTION for short stories. (If I wrote novel length science fiction, the science might be obsolete by the time I finished it!) I've also written one horror story.
Primarily novels (working on a young adult fantasy series), but also short stories (SF, horror, etc.)
My first YA fantasy novel, MAGIC TEACHER'S SON (Book 1 of the Magicians' Gold series), published by Pen-L Publishing, was a 2016 Eric Hoffer Book Awards First Horizon Award Finalist and 2015 IAN Book of the Year Awards Finalist! See www.Pen-L.com/MagicTeachersSon.html
I like reading fantasy and science fiction equally well. I don't read horror very often, but occasionally.
Kayaker, canoeist, skier, coin collector. US Army veteran (Armor) with knowledge and skills in small arms and Army heavy weapons up to and including tanks. Solar energy & peak oil expert, ran my own solar energy business and installed rooftop solar electric systems. I've raised pet chickens in my backyard (and acquired the only town permit to do so!). Was in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for a few years and owned my own PWC (personal watercraft, Jet-Ski, Wave-Rider). I've worked in a wide range of jobs including US Army officer (tank commander), traveling photographer, teacher, camp counselor, tax preparer, car salesman, track photographer, computer programmer, ran my own solar energy business (and a few minimum wage jobs when I was young). Basically I'm a jack of all trades, with more jobs and hobbies over the years than I can count! Princeton University graduate, in case anyone is writing a story set at Princeton.
My YA fantasy novel MAGIC TEACHER'S SON (Book 1 of the Magicians' Gold series) was a 2016 Eric Hoffer Book Award winner (HM in YA), 2016 First Horizon Award Finalist, & 2015 IAN Book of the Year Awards Finalist! See www.Pen-L.com/MTSDHW
IMHO, this is not only the best writers Meetup in the known universe, it's also the best in the Enderverse*, the best in the metaverse*, and the best in all possible quantum universes collectively known as the multiverse* or meta-universe*. But that's just my humble opinion, LOL! *Definitions (from Wikipedia): "The multiverse (or meta-universe) is the hypothetical set of multiple possible universes (including the historical universe we consistently experience) that together comprise everything that exists and can exist: the entirety of space, time, matter, and energy as well as the physical laws and constants that describe them." "The Metaverse is our collective online shared space, created by the convergence of virtually enhanced physical reality and physically persistent virtual space, including the sum of all virtual worlds, augmented reality, and the internet." The Enderverse is a series of science fiction novels, short stories, and comics by Orson Scott Card.
