This month we'll be reading Cry Wolf, the first book in the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs, and I Am Number Four, the first book in the Lorien Legacies series by Pittacus Lore.
Just FYI - I noticed that several readers commented on BN and Amazon that it would be helpful to read the short story by Patricia Briggs in the anthology, On the Prowl, before reading Cry Wolf.
Anna never knew werewolves existed, until the night she survived a violent attack…and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she’s learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. Then Charles Cornick, the enforcer—and son—of the leader of the North American werewolves, came into her life.
Charles insists that not only is Anna his mate, but she is also a rare and valued Omega wolf. And it is Anna’s inner strength and calming presence that will prove invaluable as she and Charles go on the hunt in search of a rogue werewolf—a creature bound in magic so dark that it could threaten all the pack…
Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live among you.
But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books—but we are real.
Our plan was to grow, and train, and become strong, and become one, and fight them. But they found us and started hunting us first. Now all of us are running. Spending our lives in shadows, in places where no one would look, blending in. We have lived among you without you knowing.
But they know.
They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
Three in Kenya.
They killed them all.
I am Number Four.
I am next.
