Introduction to Meditation & Christian Mysticism

Welcome to the Introduction to Christian Mysticism and Meditation Class. This meetup group is designed to introduce you to the fundamental teachings of Christian Mysticism and Meditation, what mystics do and to help you build a personal foundation of spiritual experiences and healing. The Introduction to Meditation and Christian Mysticism course is rich, deep, and fun. It offers perspectives and experiences that can change the way you think, feel, and live. Open to all, there is no restriction on faith. You only have to believe that there is most likely a power and intelligence that is higher than human intelligence.

We realize that there are many spiritual teachings and many approaches to meditation. We also realize that many of you have been reading about spiritual subjects or meditating for years and others may be just beginning. Regardless of your level of previous experience, this class is designed to be an introduction into a spiritual life that is far deeper than can be found in books or obtained through meditative techniques. If you apply yourself to the class material, we are confident that you will find these next weeks to be the doorway into the spiritual territory that the mystics and saints of all religions have described as completely life changing.

This class series is taught over a total of 6 sessions, once each week. The atmosphere is lighthearted and open, so you can relax and enjoy what you are learning. Each session will have three segments– a guided meditation, an interactive lecture, and an experiential portion.The classes are free of charge but we expect you to be serious about your commitment to them. We require you to commit to taking all 6 weeks of the class in sequence. Think of it like you would any other subject you would study. No one would expect to gain an overview of physics by taking one or two classes. The course is structured in just such a way as to give the student the right amount of experience and content so they may learn and grow a great deal, and to be able to make a sound assessment wether they want to continue their studies with us. Upon completing the Introduction to Meditation and Christian Mysticism Class, you are able to attend our advanced classes as well as take part in other spiritual offerings.
