Ticket to Ride is fun with casual gamers of different age levels and backgrounds. Carcassone is fun to repetitively play with a good group of friends. Dixit is a great game for large groups and like a ice breaker to get into people's minds. Settlers of Catan and Dominion are classics. Taboo and Pictionary are fun in light situations. Scrabble is good to practice linguistic skills. And when you want to eliminate luck, Chess is always there. Many more I haven't listed that I'd love to learn. Each game has its time and place.
