Understanding Your Camera - Creating Better Pictures

Understanding Your Camera - Creating Better Pictures

Whatever your interest in photography, a strong understanding of the basics is essential to getting great results. Not only will you become more efficient and comfortable with using your camera, but you’ll be able to have a lot more fun creatively as well, and actually begin to use your camera to it’s full potential!
In this hands on workshop we will cover various fundamentals including:

- White Balance
- Shutter Speed (how to freeze/create motion)
- Aperture (depth of field)
- Shooting Modes
- Composition

The session will include camera theory paired with the opportunity to apply what you have learned as you go by taking some great creative shots.
The meetup will take place outdoor and we will move to different locations inside a specific area (Zurich Industriequartier, 8005).

What to bring

- Your Digital SLR (with lenses) or Point & Shoot Camera (preferably with a Manual mode)
- Your camera manual
- Charged batteries!
- Confortable shoes

I'm planning to held the meetup in the Industriequartier in Zurich. It's an incredibly diversified area, which helps to create different photographic moods. Likely the meeting point is going to Hardbrücke station, but I will update the details later.

As usual, if you have any question please post them below or send me a message or call me on +41 792209182.

There is no waiting list for this event.

The Meetup will start just outside Hardbrücke station, in front of the Prime Tower (Hardstrasse 201). If you arrive by train at Hardbrücke station, follow the indication for "Technoparkstrasse, Maag Halle". When you are out of the station, look on your left and you should see the tower and a COOP supermarket. This is how the tower look like :)

Let's meet just in front of the tower main entrance. If you have any problem do not hesitate to contact me, my number is:

Please, try to arrive in time. We will start at 11.15 sharp and we will move around a bit. The meetup should last around 3 hours.

Don't forget to bring fresh batteries for your camera.

This is an outdoor meetup and, unfortunately, the weather forecast is not great for Saturday. Around Hardbrücke there are areas with some cover, so we should be able to run the meetup even it it rains a bit. If it rains really hard, I'm afraid we will have to cancel it.

Please check this page on Saturday morning at 8, I will update the status of the meetup.

Again, if you are unable to check this page, feel free to call me to get an update.

Weather sucks horribly this morning too. It is not raining right now but chances that it will are pretty high. I think we should take our chances and try to go ahead and run the meetup. In the last few days it started raining in the afternoon/evening so I hope this pattern will repeat. If it gets tsunami-like, we will find cover somewhere around Hardbrucke.

If you don't feel like coming, it's totally fine. If you plan not to come AND you are reading this,  please click on the RSVP button and cancel your participation.

Thanks for your understanding.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
