Do you consider yourself a newbie to this level of cooking craft restaurants?

Somewhat. I been finding exciting restaurants (either non rated by at all, rated, but non-starred or one- and two-starred in the michelin) a fair bit over the past years, but i have always lacked the accomplices or time to really explore the very top drawer. Starting this meetup group is seeking to change that by lending the approach some structure, planning and momentum by like-minded people.

What are your top three memorable restaurant moments that come to your mind right now?

The Asador Etxebarri in San Sebastian is a place that i would accept any silly excuse to travel to again, the Young Turks collective pop-up at the Ten Bells pub in London last year was very impressive and i still cherish my very first high end restaurant experience from the early '90 at the long gone "Frühsammers and der Rehwiese" in Berlin. Recently, my suggestion to visit either the Per Se or Eleven Madison Park in NYC was voted down by the group i was with, a disappointment that propelled starting this meetup group eventually.

Introduction

Moved to Zürich in 2007 and got stuck here. Working in an international role at a large US based IT company. When time permits i try to explore interesting restaurants wherever i can.

Very pleasant company. The litmus test comes when this group actually looks at going for something with more effort in terms of travel, time and expenses. I'm excited! :-)
