NOTE THE TIME CHANGE IS ONE HOUR LATER, now 3PM!!!!
Since there was such a high demand (26 showing up, 6 waitlisted) I've decided to change the location so that everyone has a chance to go, so we'll just wait a few minutes for people to show up and Yoga to end (ends generally at 3), and then we can go in the very huge courtyard there, get into different groups, and then enjoy the beautiful day and talk Vonnegut. There are a bunch of little areas at the base of Runyon where groups of people can congregate, so we don't have to have the groups right next to each other. Parking is free and available all over, but you might have to park a block or two away and walk up. There are two entrances to Runyon, and we'll be meeting by the FULLER or EAST entrance.
Afterwards, if people wanted to hike, there's that option too, or plenty of food options right around if a few want to grab coffee and food. What I would do is bring a blanket or towel to sit on, and we'll just find spots, sit in a circle, and go from there. I'm hitting up Costco at some point this week, so maybe I'll bring juice boxes and snack bags so we can feel like we're in fifth grade baseball/softball having post-game treats. Feel free to bring whatever.
From now on, I talked to my local library which is a few minutes from Aroma/Runyon area, and they have an awesome and big room that accomodate like 40 or 50 people, so future meetups will probably be held there.
ALSO, PLEASE UPDATE YOUR STATUS IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO GO, OR IF YOU CAN NOW GO!!!
Look forward to seeing you there- the book is great!
So most of you have probably read Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse V, and this is another famous one of his that I've just never gotten around to reading. So I figure why not start the club with something easy like this. Even if you've read it already, just scan through it and come to the discussion anyway.
I was going to put a description on here, but figured eh. So get the book on Amazon (you should probably have this in your collection), or put it on your nook, or go check it out from the library.
