Weather forecast looks reasonable this weekend.
Meet at petro-can on the hwy and car pool..
Just doing the canyon this time, i don't want to hike into the ink pots, (my knees just can't handle it anymore).
Johnson canyon in the winter is dangerous, with temperatures around zero it will be incredibly slippery.
I will be wearing traction device (crampons) on my boots, so will my wife, I strongly recommend you bring some for your boots, it's a long way down if you fall. Trekking poles are also a good idea, a small backpack with food water etc. extra clothes etc..
you are responsible for your own safety...
Before coming you need to sign grad photography waiver, look under the "more" tag at the top, then go to files, download and bring it with you.. i will have some extra's but it will save time if you have it ready..
We may stop for food in Banff or Lake Louise, we may not.
It will take about 2 to 3 hours to the upper falls and back, depending on how many photo's we take. About 6km's total.. about 160m height gain,
I have room for two more in our vehicle. When you rsvp, say if you need a ride or if you have room for passengers..in the comment section.
bring your toonies...(peter is always on my back for forgetting to collect )
