So much to learn and to experience, question is why none the other people came out?

I would be happy to model... if need be. As long as I can get some of the shots after. I need to update my Linkedin profile as well... lol

I think I'll bring all of my stuff and do the dog and pony show

There will be a fair amount of lighting equipment amongst those who have already rsvped.. So if that was stopping you from coming. Don't worry about it. Lots to share.

Bring a friend to shoot. If you don't want to sit in front of the camera. It always amazes me how many photographers don't like their own image take. That is perfectly fine...

maybe you could bring your dog or cat for your profile picture too.

I'm surprised as well Dan, this will be an excellent opportunity to learn about lighting techniques.
To make a good headshot is not easy, the technical side of lighting is hard enough. To get the best lighting to shape the persons face in a flattering way is hard enough, but to be able to get some emotion and to gain some insight to a person from a single image is a whole other level.
The is so much info on youtube about this subject. Start with the Peter Hurley ones about the chin and squincing. Not everyone is a fan of hurley's personality but there is no doubt he makes some awesome images. I also recommend Karsh, a canadian master photographer

and how often do we find a large space like the car club to shoot in for free....it's a rare event these days.

I'll bring some strobes/flashes and a softbox/umbrella with stands/triggers. There should be plenty of equipment for those that don't have any. I'm surprised there isn't more signed up.

i just went and got the new Strobe pro Roamer 600 powerpack and new remote triggers, i think i'll come to this one to try it out.

I will bring some lighting equipment and a backdrop..but i don't have a lot...strictly speaking should not even need back drop since we want black.

If you are not sure how to do that, this will be a good opportunity to learn.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
