  • This location is shown only to members

Changes are coming to this meetup....

friends,  Mike and I werent too comfortable with the initial plan and are working in the background on rejuvenating the fashion shoot... in the meantime we have this location all day. We are going to open this up for anyone and everyone who has not had too much experience with models and such. Mike and I will bring a few setups down and then we can go ahead and colabotrate in anyway shape or form.

Other photographers with lites sign up first!!!

There will be head shots for the volunteer models who then in turn stick around for other work...

what you need to bring: Chairs for posing, other items to accesories your shots maybe even a simple flower.  So think on that.

The am session to wrap up at 1Pm  the  pm starts at 1:30!

I'm really sorry. I woke up with a miserable head cold this morning. I'm pretty much a bag of misery and not fit for much right. I'll have to catch you guys next time.

We really need some models for this one, we have put out some messages in various place and asked a lot of our previous models if they would like to come down....it would be wonderful if you all could do the same...

Is there any room in a non-photographer capacity? I work evenings during the week and full day saturday, so there's few meet times I can make. This could be a good opportunity to meet members and see what it's all about at the same time.

If it was for charity or a good cause I might consider it. Looks more like a for profit type of deal. Thanks but its not for me.

I do have a Nikon D600 with 2 SB-700 and 1 SB-400 flashes. I have ordered light stands but I hope to get them next week.

I am pretty sure Mike, Peter and Nancy will have the D4/50 1.4 mm/AlienBees + backdrop set up to manufacture catalogue prints, and the rest of us are shooting what we would like to present. My question is: is she going to confiscate what we shot (like magazine editors vs staff photographers)? Should we upload all the photos onto Skydrive/Dropbox and let her pick what she likes to put into her catalogue and hang in her living room (like wedding photographers vs clients). These may worth clarifying in the briefing document or at a pre-meet up.

I wonder if the concept none profit is clear to everyone.... We can't make money with our efforts in this group. Revenue Canada would really rip as new one.

Don't see anything wrong with giving photo credits. We are not getting monetarily compensated, but for many involved here the reward is the experience.

My take on this one is: I can ask some girls out and take pictures of them on an individual basis, and most of the time the girls flake. Or I can find a local stylist/designer, book a model, book a HMUA, find a place, and have half of my shoots fell apart because one of the above doesn't check out. By doing a bigger production, we can do something that we can't accomplish individually.

I would be interested in this, if not for this line: "Please be aware: All photos chosen for the cataloge to be property of DiDesign."

8am is the time the place is available to us. So far we don't know when exactly it all will start, but I am sure we need to get there early to set up.

I believe it also has to do with when the designer, tailor, MUA and modeles are up. The designer is from a military family and she has done theatre & runway backstage. I wouldn't worry too much.

Is 8am the set time or is that tentative at the moment?
